Pyrethrum
Pyrethrum is a natural insecticide produced by several species of
Chrysanthemum sp. and is the precursor of the synthetic pyrethroid insecticides. Pyrethrum is available as an emulsifiable concentrate, in combination with rotenone, or alone as a wettable powder. Pyrethrum is labeled against a large number of pests: grape leafhopper, potato leafhopper, leaf curl plum aphid, blueberry flea beetle, blueberry thrips, and blueberry sawfly. Pyrethrum is quickly broken down in the environment and may be used up to and including the day of harvest.
